And then there were two.
Rambo
5/1/87 - 8/27/04
to make a long story short, sometime last night Rambo came limping home, he could barely move his back leg and seemed to be in alot of pain. We brought him to his regular vet this morning and he said there was a fracture, its possible he got hit by a car, but more likely it was just his bones had deteoriated (sp) due to his age and severe arthritis. We decided to have them do xrays to see how bad the fracture was, because of his age healing would be a problem. We said goodbye and left him there, the vet called my mom (hes really her cat, although I'm the one who brought him home 17 years ago and caught hell for it. lol) and said the bone was shattered, they could do a splint and change it ever 6-8 weeks and there was a possibility that it would heal, but at his age it was unlikely. My mom decided not to put him through anything else, and had the vet give him the injection while he was still under anethesia from the xrays.
Its hard to make the best choice, because whats best for your pet isn't whats best for you. But you have to.
Rambo gave us 17 years of joy and we did what we had to.
Rest in Peace Rambo, we love you.
If there were no words...
This weblog has gone through many changes since I started it in May 2003. It was originally created to keep family and friends informed of my grandmother's (who we called Mema) progress when she was diagnosed with a recurrance of Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Sadly, she unexpectedly passed away on May 22, 2003 and I miss her more than words can express. This weblog then became a grief journal. Now its a little of all of the above. contact: catladyfromnpt@hotmail.com
